Learn One Thing: Make Bacon Using a Waffle Iron

Yup, that’s right, you apparently can make better bacon by grilling it on a waffle iron, as I found out in this blog post from Lifehacker today:

Make Better, Less Messy Bacon in a Waffle Iron

Check out the link for a video from some Food Network show with a couple of very corny hosts (you’ve been warned).

This seems like a good idea, since you can keep the grease away from the bacon and allow it to cook better than you could in a skillet.  When I cook bacon it always seems to be floating in grease by the end, so to not have to deal with scooping my bacon out of the grease would be nice!  I’ll have to give this a try sometime and see if the bacon in fact does taste better as well.

  1. LOVE this idea! I am thinking the same thing would work with the George Forman. The mess is all contained too. Keep up the Learn One Thing… I am learning too!
